Staff Assistant-NTID Office of the President -- RIT VP/Dean 6281BR National Technical Institute for the Deaf NTID Office of the President -- RIT VP/Dean Detailed Job Description Position will provide support to the Event Management System, checking on daily scheduling of NTID space for meetings, workshops and special events. Works closely with Student Life Team as well as assisting faculty and staff and occasional outside requests for space. Serves as the NTID Coordinator for Imagine RIT. This includes working on the RIT Imagine committee, pulling together an NTID committee, soliciting proposals show casing research in the NTID space and the Clark Gym, purchasing supplies for the event, coordinating volunteers for the event day, facilitating technical needs. Will work with the NTID Special Events Coordinator with events including but not limited to the following: NTID Welcome Back Luncheon Retirement Length of Service NTID Advisory Group meetings (NAG) Holiday Reception Special Events - RSD Dinner Events for Academic Affairs - New faculty breakfast, holiday reception for chairs and managers, ASLIE Lecture Series Events for Retirees - Plays with receptions; Retiree breakfasts or lunches Events for RIT - Brick City Weekend, Graduation Events for Student Life Team - Community Building Activities Other activities as needed Creates NTID Dean's List Certificates each semester. Works with the NTID Senior Institutional Researcher/Registrar to access this information. Sends out Mandatory Training non-compliance emails to NTID faculty and staff received from the RIT Compliance Officer. Back up to the Special Events Coordinator. Other duties as assigned Department/College Description Required Minimum Qualifications Two years related experience in an administrative position. Skills: Flexibility to work independently and be a member of the team Ability to manage multiple project simultaneously Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook Ability to problem solve Ability to maintain confidentiality Communication in American Sign Language at an intermediate level or the willingness to take NTID ASL classes to reach that level.
