Senior Staff Assistant-NTID Outreach, Placement and Special Projects 6287BR National Technical Institute for the Deaf NTID Outreach, Placement and Special Projects Detailed Job Description Provide confidential, high level support for the NTID Assistant Dean and Executive Director of Outreach, Placement and Special Projects. This includes planning and implementation of tasks as directed by the Assistant Dean. This involves skills to complete tasks simultaneously and using independent judgment in prioritizing tasks to be accomplished. This may involve the following duties: Confidential calendar management with both internal and external participants, preparing meeting materials, scheduling interpreters and any other logistics needed for the meeting. Travel, both national and international for the Assistant Dean and associated parties if needed. This includes all aspects of the travel - registrations, flights, hotel, interpreters, and reconciling trip expenses (TERs). Support for the NTID Regional STEM Center (NRSC). This includes: Travel arrangements for NRSC staff as needed. This may include registrations, flights, hotel, interpreters, and reconciling trip expenses (TERs). Assist with gathering data and compiling monthly, quarterly and annual NRSC/other activities reports. Prepares presentations or other kinds of documentation using Excel, Word, Powerpoint or other software. Assist project officer in reviewing invoice submissions from the Alabama Institution for the Deaf and Blind including paying invoices Order, manage and inventory supplies, equipment, materials and supplies as commensurate with NRSC activities and goals Provide support for special projects by the Outreach department as requested Support for Special Projects including SD2025 and subsequent and activities. Work with NTID's Co-op and Career Center and Outreach Departments as needed. Assist with additional projects as requested Department/College Description National Technical Institute for the Deaf- Division of Outreach, Placement and Special Projects Required Minimum Qualifications 3-4 years of experience in an administrative position. Skills: Flexibility to work independently Ability to manage multiple project simultaneously Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills Strong organizational and interpersonal skills Excellent use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook Ability to maintain confidentiality Communication in American Sign Language at an intermediate level or the willingness to take NTID ASL classes to reach that level.
