Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking Firmware Engineer with the desire to learn new technologies to join our innovative Test Design Engineering team, a sub team of Engineering and Science organization to help with developing, enhancing and maintaining firmware on cutting edge test products and systems.  The systems Firmware Engineer will be working on are focused on architecting solutions based on various design requirements, developing firmware interfaces to emulate/monitor and report various types of signal communications between and among various system modules across Space Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance platforms.   Join a design community that addresses unique design challenges which require the combined talents of multiple engineering disciplines including Hardware, Software, Mechanical Design, Systems Engineering and Program Management. We are looking for an experienced Engineer who has a balanced skillsets and passion for firmware development and integration with software and hardware sets. If you are someone who likes to develop software, firmware code and then see your code come to life by controlling and manipulating hardware components such as AC power supply, temperature, vibration ….etc., then this is a perfect opportunity for you. Typical Roles and Responsibilities: Design, develop, and integrate firmware solutions with an interdisciplinary team: firmware Design Examples: Test System Automation Instrument control software development and integration Software/hardware integration Operating and working with test instrumentation/signal measurement equipment such as Oscilloscope, Network Analyzer…etc  Test System validation Actively support the investigation, resolution and documentation of product anomalies Understanding Design to Cost Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or other STEM degree 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD.  Experience with Software/Firmware Development Lifecycle (Requirements, Design, Implementation and Integration & Test) Experience in FPGA VHDL FW programming: Xilinx FPGA devices and Vivado development environment. SERDES MGT greater than 1Gbps. Serial & Parallel Protocol up to 320Mbps DSP of IF & RF signals Mentor Graphics Questa Advanced Simulator 10.6d (64Bit) Experience in LabVIEW FPGA FW Programming: Experience in LabVIEW SW Developer Experience in LabVIEW FPGA FW Developer Working experience with National Instruments FPGA devices (such as FlexRIO). National Instruments SERDES devices. Experience writing firmware or software code in C/C# Experience in serial protocols Serial RS422, UDP, HDLC, SDLC Parallel Digital Busses SERDES UDP, Aurora 8b10b, JESD, SGMII Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree in Engineering or related STEM discipline Experienced in Digital & Analog Circuits Design Digital circuits PCB Design Hi-speed transmission line Experience with C/C++/MATLAB/Python Experience with collaborating in or using source code control environment (such as GitHub, Clear Case, SourceSafe, etc) Experience with test instrument control frameworks (VISA, IVI, etc) Experience with working in Agile Development Methodology Active Secrete Clearance Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
