On the Mission Systems Sector team, you’ll join our experts in developing systems and solutions that keep our world safe.  Northrop Grumman’s Manufacturing department is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to support its Microelectronics Manufacturing Process Engineering organization. This position will be located at the Mission Systems Sector, Navigation, Targeting, and Survivability Division, in Rolling Meadows, IL. The selected candidate(s) will work in a dynamic, people-focused environment where he/she will interact with product designers, manufacturing technicians, quality engineering, global supply chain, and test engineering. Process Engineers will design and develop system processes, guide the manufacturability of new product designs, troubleshoot production hardware, and investigate and implement continuous improvement opportunities. Roles and Responsibilities: Transition new products from design to production and sustain products already in production. Design and validate new processes and fixtures, and plan sequence of operations. Create manufacturing engineering documentation (change notices, routers, and electronic work instructions (eWIs)). Provide technical guidance to the production process technicians pertaining to failure analysis, process methodology, corrective action, and continuous improvement. Troubleshoot production hardware to determine root cause of failures followed by identifying and implementing both interim and permanent corrective actions. Work with suppliers to resolve technical hardware issues. Create and analyze metrics to target cost and efficiency improvements. Apply continuous improvement techniques to drive down costs and improve production efficiency. Establish and submit processing requirements to be met in designing and acquiring processing equipment. Basic Qualifications: Associate Process Engineer Experience in hardware design and/or the manual assembly of medium to low volume microelectronic assemblies. Experience in manufacturing process development, fixture design, and troubleshooting. Strong communication skills, organization skills, and the ability to collaborate in a team environment. Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline Experience working with CAD software. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship required. Process Engineer Experience in hardware design and/or the manual assembly of medium to low volume microelectronic assemblies. Experience in manufacturing process development, fixture design, and troubleshooting. Strong communication skills, organization skills, and the ability to collaborate in a team environment. Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline and 2 or more years of related work experience Experience working with CAD software. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications: Master of Science degree in Mechanical or related engineering discipline Experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience working with CAD software. Experience with Microsoft Project. Experience with Earned Value Management. Active security clearance. MANUMS Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
