The Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) Advanced Processing Solutions business pushes the boundaries of innovation, redefines the leading edge of exotic new technologies, and drives advances in the sciences. Major activities include Secure Processing – leveraging Deep Submicron CMOS Silicon technology, and Transformational Computing – combining unique properties of superconductivity and quantum mechanics to develop radical new energy-efficient computing systems. You’ll work in a fast-paced team environment alongside a broad array of scientists and engineers to make these processing solutions a reality and deliver remarkable new advantages to the warfighter. We are seeking a Design Enablement Engineer to join our team to support digital design and implementation of full-custom digital and mixed signal ASIC circuits.  Successful candidate will work closely with the design team streamlining the design flow and improving the efficiency of the team. Tasks will include License and hardware server usage and tracking, LSF support for the hardware engineering compute cluster, EDA tool approval requests, installation, testing, supporting module file creation, PDK update installations, 3rd party IP installations and License installations. Strong written and oral communication skills are required. As a Design Enablement Engineer at Northrop Grumman you can also effect change in how we pursue advanced technology development. The ideal candidate will have solid experiences in large scale software development in the commercial EDA tools typically used for design of microelectronics ASICs. Qualifications for both are listed below: Basic Qualifications for Principal Design Enablement Engineer Bachelor's degree in a technical area (BSEE or other Engineering discipline preferred) with 5+ years of ASIC experience, (MS with 3+ years) Experience with some of the following: IC design tools (e.g. – Cadence or  Mentor): Genus, Innovus, Tempus, Calibre, Jasper, Conformal Experience with account management in Git and JIRA Strong written and oral communication skills are required. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance. US Citizenship is a requirement of this. Onsite work at our Linthicum, MD location is required. Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in the entire ASIC design flow from RTL through tape-out (RTL coding, simulation, synthesis, static timing analysis, logic equivalence, DFT insertion) Tool experience with Formal verification Synopsys Formality or Cadence Conformal Familiarity with EDA standards used in cell/library development and modeling – Liberty, LEF (library exchange format), DEF (design exchange format), OA (OpenAccess) DoD Secret clearance Basic Qualifications for Senior Principal Design Enablement Engineer Bachelor's degree in a technical area (BSEE or other Engineering discipline preferred) with 9+ years of ASIC experience, (MS with 7+ years or PhD with 4+) Experience with some of the following: IC design tools (e.g. – Cadence or  Mentor): Genus, Innovus, Tempus, Calibre, Jasper, Conformal Experience interfacing with engineers and managers to schedule projects and to provide schedule updates and roadmaps. Experience with account management in Git and JIRA Strong written and oral communication skills are required. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance. US Citizenship is a requirement of this. Onsite work at our Linthicum, MD location is required. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
