Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a highly qualified, mission oriented level 3 (S03) manager to lead a team of engineers in the Mission Systems IPT for TAS programs. This position will report functionally to the Electronics & Payloads (E&P) Directorate.  Mission Systems is the hub of technical excellence in the design and integration of mission-based hardware and software at Northrop Grumman’s Engineering Center of Excellence in Rancho Bernardo, California. As a member of the Mission Systems team, you will work with engineers and technicians across all disciplines to support one or more of the following technical specialty areas: Mission and Project Engineering, RF Communications, IP Networks, Data Infrastructure, Advanced Sensors, Avionics Engineering, Ground Control Stations, Stores Management, or Electronic Warfare. As an Senior Manager you will be leading a  team of engineers as part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) with tasks and responsibilities including (but not limited to) the following: Provide leadership and direction for the engineering staff in a high tempo work environment Serve as the interface between engineering and Program Management Serve as the subcontract management team (SMT) Lead for one or more major suppliers Development of proposals and ECPs including evaluation of subcontractor proposals. Maintain the technical integrity and performance subsystem as defined in the statement of work. Develop and administer budgets, schedules, and performance standards. Development of staffing plans Risk & Opportunity Management Generating & reporting on technical metrics Support the program office with process improvement, implementation, and opportunities. Conduct regular briefing to program, functional, and engineering management. Build and maintain a culture that empowers employees, establishes personal and team accountability, motivates team performance, encourages development, and supports innovation Traveling up to 25% of the time to various customer test and deployment locations.  Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 9 years engineering or project management experience Experience Leading a team through integration, testing and delivering communications or payload systems  Active DoD Secret Clearance Preferred Qualifications: Knowledgeable of end to end communication systems including CDL, UHF LOS, UHF SATCOM, tactical voice, Link 16, etc. Master’s Degree in a STEM or Leadership field IPT Leadership Experience Experience with proposal cost estimation Subcontract Management Team (SMT) experience High level of knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) Experience managing large budgets of both labor and material Advanced level of understanding of one or more electronics & payloads subsystems Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
