NGMS is looking for an Embedded Systems Engineering candidate to join a multi-discipline engineering team that encompasses Anti-Tamper (AT) and Cybersecurity engineering. Northrop Grumman’s System Security Engineering department is on the forefront of developing next generation solutions to protect technology for our nation’s warfighter. Embedded System Engineers will have primary responsibility for the following areas and have the opportunity to develop their knowledge in: Primary Responsibilities: Identifying AT Critical Program Information (CPI) Defining AT architectures Deriving and documenting AT requirements Writing and maintaining AT Plans Supporting AT Integration & Test Executing Verification & Validation of AT requirements AT Studies in accordance with Government and NGC processes including, trade studies, research areas, and detailed analysis of system design to include microelectronic implementation and software implementation as well as system integration, verification and validation, and cost and risk. Preparing and presenting briefings to internal and external programs and customers such as Tri-Service Committee, Red Team, ATEA, and V&V team to obtain AT approvals for US-deployed and exported military systems Development Opportunities Reverse Engineering to architect and validate AT solutions Strategic planning of AT technology development Participating in communities of practice to further domain knowledge The successful candidate should have a foundation in System Engineering with a focus on Anti-Tamper, cybersecurity, embedded software or hardware development. The System Security Engineer interfaces with other engineering disciplines to develop the complete system security solution. This position may be filled at a higher grade based on the qualifications listed below. Basic Qualifications for a level 3 (Principal Engineer): Bachelors in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 5 years general technical experience OR Master's with 3 years experience. System Engineering knowledge of DoD based Platforms, Sensors and/or Sub-systems. Including but not limited to: RF, Radar, EO/IR, Satellite, Cryptography, Architecture development, etc. Familiarity with Embedded software or hardware, Hardware design, architecture or integration. Familiarity with requirements development and derivation OR validation and verification Active DOD Interim Secret clearance is required with the ability to obtain higher clearances. US Citizenship is required. Basic Qualifications for a level 4 (Sr. Principal Engineer): Bachelors in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 9 years general technical experience OR Master's with 7 years experience; OR PhD with 4 years of experience. System Engineering knowledge of DoD based Platforms, Sensors and/or Sub-systems. Including but not limited to: RF, Radar, EO/IR, Satellite, Cryptography, Architecture development, etc. Experience with Embedded software or hardware, Hardware design, architecture or integration. Experience executing Systems Engineering activities (requirements derivation, design, Integration & Test, Verification & Validation) Active DOD Interim Secret clearance is required with the ability to obtain higher clearances. US Citizenship is required. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degrees in Engineering, Software, or Science related fields. Hardware-focused anti-tamper techniques and countermeasures Secure software architectures and applications Advanced Microelectronic design and fabrication Experience with Anti-Tamper, Reverse Engineering, Hardware Design, Embedded Software or Cryptography Some experience in technical leadership role.
