Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking Principal Electronics Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals on a program at the Autonomous Systems Center of Excellence in San Diego, CA. As a Principal Electronics Engineer, you will play a critical role in the research, development and test of electronic systems and solutions that keep our world safe. This includes the design, development and test of various electronic equipment and systems, including radar and radiation detection equipment; radio, television and other communications equipment and systems; circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment. The selected candidate must be able to apply engineering principles and techniques to provide support to the Mission Systems Integration Product Team (IPT) in the integration, test and delivery of sensors and payloads. This includes support for System Integration Lab (SIL), test and post-test data analysis. Beyond support for activities listed above, the candidate must be proficient in the areas below. Knowledge, Skills and Ability: Complete understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines. Problem Solving: Provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives. Discretion/Latitude: Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Impact: Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects. Failure to obtain results or erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources. Liaison: Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects. ​ Qualifications Basic Qualifications:  Strong communication skills, organization skills, and the ability to collaborate in a team environment Bachelors of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university with 5 years of experience in Engineering; OR Masters of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university with 3 years of experience in Engineering; OR PhD in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university with 0 years of experience in Engineering Experience with coding & scripting languages (i.e., MATLAB, Python) Ability to learn data analysis processes and techniques Ability to perform System Integration and communicate complex technical concepts to program leadership   Willingness to learn Imagery Analysis techniques and best practices, to learn sensor integration processes and techniques, and ability to identify, track and work technical issues Active Secret security clearance, US Citizenship required Preferred Qualifications:  Experience in System Integration in a development environment Experience working with Sensors Experience in Data Analysis Experience with Post-Flight Radar & Imagery Analysis Experience supporting large scale Test effort Experience with aerospace development, production, or operations Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
