Scheduled Hours 37.5 Position Summary Washington University seeks an advancement professional for the position of Associate Director of Advancement supporting Olin Business School. The Olin Advancement team strives to advance the mission of Olin Business School by creating a culture of philanthropy among alumni, students, faculty, parents, and friends. The Associate Director will develop strategies to increase philanthropic support as well as identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors for Olin Business School. The Associate Director of Advancement reports to the Director of Advancement. Job Description The ability to travel is required. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Develop and manage a portfolio of annual fund prospects. Develop and execute thoughtful, innovative, and individualized strategies for cultivating and soliciting donors and prospects.Â Meet all development goals jointly set with the Director of Advancement. Metrics will focus on meaningful contacts, qualifications, solicitations, dollars solicited, dollars raised, and number of gifts closed.Â Development work will focus on alumni, parents, friends, faculty, staff, corporations, and foundations. Engage prospects in both the St. Louis region and key cities across the United States. Develop strategies to grow target segments that will enhance Olin annual fund donors and dollars.Â Manage the renewal of Olinâ™s Eliot Society members.Â Partner with Annual Giving Programs and Olin Marketing and Communications to produce communications that drive donors and dollars.Â Lead Olinâ™s Eliot Society Kickoff event and work with Olinâ™s Eliot Committee members and leaders to drive support for Olin.Â Produce Olin annual fund reporting. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the internal constituents across Advancement and Olin Business School.Â Develop a broad comprehension of Olinâ™s history, mission, strategic plan, faculty, degree programs, curriculum, and research centers.Â Undertake special projects and assignments to advance the mission of Washington University. Preferred Qualifications Masterâ™s degree. Development experience in a complex university environment. Familiarity and interest in business. Honesty, integrity, and enthusiasm. Very strong work ethic supported by commitment and follow through. Ability to think strategically and analytically, and then implement effectively. Demonstrated passion for initiating meetings and developing relationships with prospects. Ability to articulate the mission and aspirations of Washington University and Olin Business School. Capacity to listen carefully, learn quickly, and work effectively. Ability to work within a complex organization across multiple units dealing with diverse constituents toward development objectives. Sound judgment and the ability to make independent decisions while working collaboratively through a team approach. Comfort working in an environment that emphasizes measurable fundraising goals. Required Qualifications Bachelorâ™s degree. Three to five years of experience in development/advancement, preferably in higher education. Grade G12 Salary Range $53,900.00 - $92,200.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
