Job Description

The Strategic Programmes & Operations Manager is responsible for delivering multiple Geographic Services Strategic change projects across the Nordics. The Strategic Programmes & Operations Manager reports to the Nordic Geographic Services Lead.

The programmes will typically stem from specific sponsorship responsibilities assigned to the Nordic Geographic Services Lead, from local insights generated by data analysis, or from business improvements, policy compliance or broader business risks, where global programmes are being managed centrally and where the Nordic Manager plays an important part in handling the relevant localization. On select programmes, reporting should happen also to the Europe Strategic change projects programmes team.

The Strategic Programmes & Operations Manager should demonstrate strategic thinking, creativity, and flexibility to drive projects, from understanding the strategic vision, translating that vision into specific initiatives for implementation, producing estimates, defining scope, and building requirements, through to deployment in collaboration with other functions. This requires the ability to work across a complex organizational structure and prioritizing relevant change management activities. Together with the Nordic Geographic Services Lead, the Manager will lead the critical path and proactively manage and report on project risks and dependencies, milestones and deliverables. The Manager will also draft communications across multiple leadership and function lead stakeholders and should therefore have exceptional communication and change management skills.

Every change programme will be driven with insights from various data sources and will be rooted in driving cross-Accenture business improvements. The successful candidate will therefore be comfortable working with and understanding data insights. Some insights are available from central programmes, others should be built locally. The work is typically intellectually challenging and suits the candidate who thrives on dealing with complex business problems and can make recommendations on the strategic changes that should be made to address any identified issues.

Strategic Project Management

+ Understand strategic direction of work with ability to leverage business information and network to align strategy to desired outcomes

+ Prioritize and work with the leadership to make recommendations on which opportunities should or should not be pursued based on the value versus the complexity and sustainability of the required change

+ Deliver multiple complex projects across the Market Unit, often involving various teams from different parts of the business

+ Build and engage virtual and fluid project teams to deliver successful change agenda. Manage relationships and coordinate work between teams, including being an accessible point of escalation

+ Proactively assign work and provide instructions, advice and guidance to team members and project resources, and review work in progress in a timely manner

+ Provide Q&A across deliverables and against the overall strategic objectives of the project; ensuring that all activities remain core to the project

+ Scope requirements: Pulling from qualitative and quantitative sources to ensure the business drivers for change are fully understood and can be tracked and delivered

+ Establish and maintain a project plan, including resource requirements, timeliness, and deliverables. Manage each project according to the plan to avoid project slippage, scope creep, or unplanned budget spend. Drive completion within agreed timescales, budget and to the quality expectation of the stakeholder

+ Ensure that requirements, project plans, and changes to commitment are communicated to all affected team members

+ Create and manage effective change plans, communications, stakeholder management and reporting to ensure the project stakeholders' expectations are understood and managed

+ Identify and track project risks/issues and implement risk mitigation strategies as appropriate to ensure on time, within budget and quality project delivery

+ Proactively manage and monitor status in an effective manner; escalate issues to management which cannot be resolved at the programme/project level

+ Take responsibility for end-to-end solutioning, ensuring timeliness and high-quality outcomes through effective team communications and focus on quality

+ Facilitate the transition of the project to operational groups or teams (project-dependent)
