Boeing's Product and Services Safety Team (P&SS) is seeking a Senior Systems Safety Engineer (Level 5) to work on cutting edge military aviation development programs in St. Louis, Missouri.

The Lead Systems Safety Engineer is responsible for the implementation and execution of all aspects of the Program System Safety Engineering statement of work across the entire program lifecycle.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to execute a MIL-STD-882E System Safety Program on complex system of systems and system solutions.

  • Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system safety 1) performance requirements; 2) integrate technical parameters; and 3) compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.

  • Performs various analyses to optimize product System Safety risk posture for the system of systems and/or system architecture.

  • Resolves cross-functional technical issues that impact product System Safety.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • Experience as a team lead

  • Systems Safety Engineering Experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Secret Clearance

  • Aerospace engineering experience

  • Experience mentoring engineers

Typical Education/Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Basic relocation is available for internal candidates, based on candidate eligibility.
