Requisition Number: S_211036 Department: Food Science & Technology-0836 Description of Work: Responsible for the day-to-day operation and coordination of Dr. Izard's laboratory microbiome research program. The candidate will also perform laboratory experiments such as molecular testing ( DNA / RNA extractions, primer design, PCR , qPCR, metagenomics), biochemical testing (breath, blood, urine, saliva and stool analyses) as well as immunoassays ( ELISA , immunolabelling including for microscopy). Provides advanced research, coordinates research project and supervises staff. Project management and/or supervisory experience. Experience must demonstrate prioritization, organizational, communication, and facilitation skills. Record keeping and computer skills to include MS Office. Advance knowledge of at least two of the fields of molecular biology, immunology, microbiology, biochemistry, and bioinformatics. Knowledge of compliance and safety regulations. Demonstrated ability to teach/train others. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in biological sciences or related field. Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to multi-task and work independently. Posted Salary: $45,760 minimum Job Type: Full-Time
