We have an opportunity for a Field Service Engineer II in our Performance Material & Technologies (PMT) department  in Bucharest.

The Life-Cycle Solutions Services engineer will be part of a global engineering team, executing major projects, with big Honeywell customers in Europe, Middle East and North Africa. The main focus for the Life-Cycle Solutions Services are migration projects for which the engineer will need to go through the specific training sessions and get the very important certifications without which they couldn’t perform the work. The engineers interact with Centers of Excellence, Sales teams and customers. Honeywell has a strong install base on the whole globe, which needs to go through updates in order to help customers to stay relevant in their industry through technology.

Migration projects are complex and include system, networking and virtualization in the scope, which allow the engineer to tap skills which enhance their knowledge.

These projects have also an important on-site component, which allows the engineers to go through their most complete and enriching experience.

Field Service Engineer II Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule and Milestone development/mgmt;
  • Ensures that required prerequisites (e.g. design inputs, tools, documentation, deliverables, schedule and budget) are in place prior to commencing work;
  • Creates the Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and the Detailed Design Specifications (DDS) under supervision;
  • Estimation development and analysis;
  • Cost development;
  • Metric development/reporting;
  • DCS (C300 controller, Control Edge PLCs, HPM) implementation;
  • Hardware: DCS, SIS, marshalling, PLC, Server, Network, System cabinet drawings, I/O allocation, System Architecture, Power and Heat calculation, loop drawings, etc.;
  • Creates the FAT, SAT procedures and Operator manuals under supervision;
  • Vendor interface;
  • Project Performance;
  • Proactively recommends potential quality and efficiency improvements within the engineering group.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor / Master of Science Degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or university. Preferred specializations: Automation and Computers, Informatics, Mathematics, Cybernetics, Electronics.
  • Minimum 3 years similar Project experience 
  • Experience with DCS/PLCs
  • Advanced English language skills 
  • German language skills would be considered a plus but not a requirement
  • Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time
