Summary

Experienced IT professional within the Desktop Engineering family developing and applying technical expertise in one or more IT disciplines that support Cook Children’s end user environment. Jobs in this family are responsible for imaging, deploying, supporting all equipment in the end-user realm. Supported areas include main hospital and surrounding facilities and off-site clinical and administrative locations located primarily in the N Texas area but may extend state wide requiring driving full size vans, and loading and unloading equipment.

In addition, they assist in the establishment, development, and promotion of standards across architectures, hardware and software components, and participation in the on-call rotation and availability as needed.

Disciplines for this job description include: Supporting desktop and laptop Windows based systems, iOS devices, thin clients, Chrome devices, printers, scanners, carts, audio/video/conferencing devices and applications, operating system and hardware troubleshooting, system based monitoring utilizing respective enterprise level monitoring tools, system imaging utilizing enterprise level tools, client side network troubleshooting.

Qualifications:

  • Position requires at least 3 years of direct experience and a high school diploma or equivalent OR an Associate’s Degree (IS or related technical field preferred) and at least 2 years of direct experience.
  • Experience enterprise environments highly preferred.
  • BA/BS degree in IS or related technical field preferred.
  • A+ and/or Network+ certification is preferred.
