About the Team

Our Strategic Platform DTAP team is looking for a Sr. System Engineer who is passionate about improving customer experience and has technical and leadership skills to define the work plan for standing up and building out the work on the new IDP platform.  The teams’ mission is to develop and migrate the terms and condistion domain from the various systems and provide agreement and record acceptance for various systems.  The team will work with marketing, business, and technology teams to implement this transition aligned to the Strategic Roadmaps in a phased delivery methodology.

OPSS)team is looking for a Sr. System Engineer who is passionate about improving customer experience and has technical and leadership skills to lead the development  to execute on the product roadmap. The position will lead delivery and development functions for this critical suite of functions to delivery the business needs and to support the modernization of these function to the latest technology platforms.

Responsibilities and Day-to-Day View

•    Knowledgeable in the end-to-end delivery process for software applications/services, including design, development, testing, deployment, production application support (e.g., troubleshooting) and maintenance

•    Provide guidance to gather and review software requirements/user stories, develop estimates, create software design specifications, and assess/test hardware and software interactions

•    Execute a specific development methodology through application of multiple programming languages and databases

•    Provide guidance to create and execute automated test plans/strategies, and validate test environments, test data and test results, design and implement code

•    Responsible for code quality, development velocity and improvement of quality

•    Responsible for identifying tech debt and reducing it as part of the scrum deliverables

•    Works with product manager and developers to estimate story points for stories (using reference story & Fibonacci sequence) as part of the scrum

•    Assigns features, stories to releases taking inputs from product manager


•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field

•    10+ years of product owner experience with proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle

•    Experience within high tech, software and/or wireless/telecom industry

•    4+ years working within scaled agile development team

•    Solid technical background with understanding and/or experience in software development

•    Strong analytical skills and the ability to convert consumer insights and performance data into high impact product initiatives

•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to present complex technical information in a clear manner to peers, developers, and senior leaders

•    Technical skills would include; microservices, React JS, Java, Jira, Scaled Agile Framework, full stack web design, application design

Required Qualifications
  • 5-8 years related technical architect experience.
  • Proficient in Network Management, Tools and Protocols (Configuration, IP Network Address Management, Performance Management).
  • Knowledge of data center infrastructure (including blade center design, data warehouse design, Ebusiness/web hosting design, etc.)
  • Proficient in data communications protocols (TCP/IP, v4/v6, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, GMPLS, etc.)
  • Proficient in home and premise networking architectures, assessment and modeling.
  • Proficient in specifying and evaluating architecture requirements for RFXs.
  • Understands Virtualization, Storage and Content Deliver Networks (Cloud, CDM, Grid, SAN).
  • Knowledge in voice, video, and app technologies (circuit, VoIP, SIP, IMS, AIN, Camel, etc.).
  • Understands wireless technologies standards and protocols (3GPP, Wi-Fi, WiMAX, antennas, amplifiers, base stations, propagation, interference, spectrum).
Desired Qualifications 
  • AS degree in Engineering, Information Systems or related technical field
  • Experience in building multiple versions of large customer facing systems addressing performance and scale.
  • Develops technical documentation on applications and systems
  • Ability to work with technical and business-oriented teams
