Requisition Number: F_210173 Department: J S Raikes School of Comp Sci & Mgmt-1313 Description of Work: The Jeffrey S. Raikes School of Computer Science and Management in partnership with the College of Engineering, College of Business, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln invite applications for a position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Practice, beginning August 15, 2022. This is a 9-month, full-time, non-tenure track, career-oriented position within the Raikes School. The initial appointment for this teaching-focused position is for a term of up to three years, with the opportunity for future multi-year renewals.  The new faculty member will teach a variety of data science courses for the Raikes School including probability and statistics, machine learning, and advanced methods in quantitative business.   Support will be provided for new course development, as well as the faculty member's professional development as needed.  In addition, this faculty member will lead several interdisciplinary technology development teams composed of Raikes School juniors and seniors. The Raikes School is a residential undergraduate honors program integrating the teaching of computing and management. Students take two years of Design Studio, a team-based capstone experience developing real projects for real clients. Our curriculum is integrated with the themes of design thinking, model thinking, and innovation.
