Organization Description:

Within the Antenna Core Products Team, you will be a part of a key role within the Engineering organization by developing the electronics for the defense system products. We engage at the outset of the system development and follow our designs through deployment. Our team helps develop the requirements and bring concepts to life. Our products are deployed all over the world, on the ground, and they reach the exoatmospheric environments and into space. The FPGA & Circuit Card Design team within the Antenna Core Products Department is responsible for the architecture, design, and documentation of deliverable hardware, firmware, and FPGA embedded processing.

Job Description:

The Electrical Engineer will develop Circuit Card Assembly designs to host Digital Control & Digital Signal Processing devices using FPGAs and SoCs from the major vendors including: Xilinx, Intel, and MicroChip. Designs are implemented using Mentor Graphics for the various applications including: gigabit serial interfaces, Radio Frequency (RF) and Electro-Optical (EO) DSP, controls, data links, embedded processing, and power regulation. Designers work with FPGA designers and systems & mechanical engineers to develop requirements; develop circuit card outlines; develop test plans; perform signal & power integrity analysis; develop schematics; facilitate component placement, signal routing, and drawing releases; perform circuit checkout and initial powerup; and support system integration & testing. Design support is expected from requirements definition through integration and test. Design documentation and configuration management are required.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Demonstrated experience with digital circuit card design
  • Extensive experience with Mentor Graphics
  • This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Desired Qualifications:
  • ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. 3.0 cumulative GPA desired
  • Ability to perform work without appreciable direction
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Familiarity with the Linux environment and commands Expertise of Xilinx, Intel, Microchip, or Lattice devices
  • Hands on integration experience with FPGA based systems.
  • Knowledge of VHDL & C programming and scripting languages such as Perl and Python
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
  • Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues who represent a diversity of work and conflict resolution styles

Required Education:
BS and 8 years of experience, An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience

The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
