Conducts in-depth research utilizing credit applications, research, reporting, and forecasting tools to determine the creditworthiness of a business or industry and the client processing history to minimize risk and financial exposure to ADP.  Uses quantitative and qualitative research to provide recommendations to Service Centers and Financial Leadership, ensures recommendations are aligned with ADP’s Risk Policy.  Acts with urgency regarding escalations, unfunded payrolls, Non-Sufficient Funds collection, and over threshold requirements to prevent losses.  Works closely with all levels of management internally and externally to ensure risk and retention goals are achieved.  Manages projects focused on minimizing financial loss while improving and redefining processes and procedures that further meet the goals of risk mitigation. Educates internal and external business partners on ADP’s Risk policy and risk mitigation practices.  Delicately balances risk mitigation processes with client retention, client experience, and revenue gains. Ensures timely and efficient client resolution to escalated concerns and complex matters.

Job Responsibilities


Risk Mitigation:
Reviews and generates in-depth analysis on clients who are red flagged or otherwise considered high risk and provides recommendations on continuance of features and or funding changes. Prepares due diligence matrixes for the purposes of analyzing and mitigating risk. Performs analysis under time sensitive deadlines to make recommendations on minimizing loss exposures while maintaining service initiatives. Identifies and communicates with clients demonstrating high risk behaviors have appropriate measures in place to reduce ADP’s financial exposure and to ensure funding method and feature offerings adhere to the ADP’s Risk Policy. Communicates required feature and funding method changes to such clients, delicately approaches conversations with C-Level contacts, balancing ADP risk and retention goals.


Client Escalations:
Resolves complex cases and reviews client for eligibility regarding exceptions.  Negotiates resolution of client disputes while maintaining balance between financial risk and revenue risk. Resolves insufficient fund issues and collects highly escalated funding matters, such as those clients in receivership.  Works internal case management queues to facilitate resolution of client problems. Swiftly resolves Service Center questions and issues regarding complex technical topics or funding concerns. Works with clients on education and resolution related to financial and funding matters. Reviews and works queue cases to ensure appropriate service and escalation resolution.


Technical Support:

Utilizes technical knowledge of products and features, strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, internet applications, and credit reporting tools to assist junior personnel and business partners. Educates internal and external business partners on policy and risk mitigation practices. Troubleshoots and provides technical support to Risk Associates and Management, regarding the TotalPay and Tax Filing features, procedures, and credit resources. Acts as technical resource for Tax and money movement related issues.  Acts as a subject matter expert for internal and external business partners regarding system issues, ADP Risk Policy, SmartHub procedures, and Fed Tax Deposit cycles.  Acts as a backup for Team lead, provides support for Risk Associates on escalations and interpretation of complex technical issues.

Project Management:
Develops, plans, and manages projects which impact the Risk Center’s overall goals and objectives. Completes thorough analysis to develop new processes, reporting tools and value-added initiatives to aid in risk mitigation. Innovates solutions and analyzes data to provide recommendations regarding policy adherence and resource allocation. Recommends improvements to existing business practices, processes and procedures while focusing on results driven tasks that enrich the client’s experience as well as reduce potential losses. Makes recommendations to contingency and crisis management planning to ensure business initiatives are met while ensuring risk avoidance measures are taken. Creates and maintains SmartHub solutions to ensure Risk Center processing alignment.


Monitoring and Reporting:
Oversees daily work activities of Risk Representatives, and updates management on progress. Analyzes client funding history and third-party credit information to create due diligence reports and to provide recommendations regarding employee and tax deposit releases without proper funding.  Has authority to release deposits without proper funding in accordance with the ADP Risk Policy’s predefined approval limit after conducting an appropriate assessment of a client’s risk portfolio. Performs behavior modeling to proactively minimize financial exposure by making recommendations on features and funding to balance risk with retention goals. Communicate decisions internally and externally to all levels on management. Prepares daily and monthly reports for management review. Facilitates daily status calls to ensure critical funding matters are addressed timely.   Creates Ad Hoc reports for one time or continuous use designed for benchmarking, performance analysis, and risk mitigation.

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 1-3 years of experience.
