Requisition Number: 2021-365 Business Unit: College of Medicine Department: Pathology/Microbiology 50000521 Reg-Temp: Full-Time Regular Position Summary: The Department of Pathology and Microbiology at UNMC invites applications for a full-time, tenure-leading faculty position. Qualified candidates must have an M.D. or M.D., Ph.D. (or equivalent), be American Board of Pathology certified or eligible in AP/CP with preference for specialty board qualifications and have subspecialty expertise in Clinical Pathology, including molecular and chemical pathology. Molecular pathology opportunities include somatic molecular oncology and/or germline oncology testing as well as large panel testing in hematologic and solid tumor neoplasms. The Division of Molecular Pathology diagnostic assays utilize multiple diverse technologies including next-generation sequencing, cytogenomic analysis, and FISH .  Chemical Pathology opportunities include laboratory directorship or associate directorship in multiple subspecialities including clinical lab and public health operations with responsibility for assay validation, clinical consultation, serum protein electrophoresis/immunofixation, GC and ICP mass spectrometry, therapeutic drug monitoring, immunoassays, and analysis of seized illegal drugs.  Educational opportunities include teaching within the medical school and within an ACGME accredited AP/CP residency, MGP fellowship, and cytogenetics fellowship program.
