- As an engineer in the Enterprise Analytics team supporting the Underwriting Computation Engine, you will be responsible to build and deliver advanced data analytic and modeling applications to forecast profit and/or loss.
- The ecosystem of applications is composed of three major teams: UI, Computation Engine, and a Data Mart. The Computation Engine is downstream to the Data Mart and exposes P&L functionality to the UI via HTTP endpoints.
- You will write and refactor existing code to enhance the models the Computational Engine uses to forecast profit and/or loss calculations.

What You'll do (Key Responsibilities):
- Build and maintain business logic solutions using a custom in-house framework written in Python and utilizing PySpark.
- Integrate business logic with upstream and downstream systems and applications including RDBMS, Hive, Databricks, Delta lake, Azure Data Lake etc.
- Build and maintain micro-services written in Python that process data through a model and publish the results to a RDBMs on Azure SQL for downstream systems to consume.
- Optimize Big Data queries in PySpark and RDMBS queries in SQL to run faster.
- Optimize DevOps processes with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Gitlab, Nexus Repo, and Checkmarx.

Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience working in software/data engineering role
- 2+ years hands-on experience coding in Python and PySpark or a similar language
- 2+ years working with Big Data & ML technologies like Databricks, Hadoop, Spark, Scala, R.
- 2+ years designing systems in the cloud using Cloud Functions, Data Pipelines, Tools for Big Data, RDBMS, NoSQL, Cache, Logging and Monitoring.
- 1+ years experience of software engineering best practices (CI/CD, Git)
- 1+ years of experience in Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.

COVID Requirements

Preferred Qualifications
- Azure cloud experience or certification
- Experience in the Healthcare Industry or Underwriting business domain.

- Bachelor’s degree required; Computer Science, MIS, or Engineering preferred
