Requisition Number: F_210177 Department: Nutrition & Health Sciences UNL-1041 Description of Work: The Department of Nutrition and Health Sciences in the College of Education and Human Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking to fill a non-tenure track faculty position, Assistant Professor of Practice in Athletic Training that will serve as the Coordinator of Clinical Education ( CCE ) for the CAATE Accredited Athletic Training Program. This is a full-time, 9-month appointment with a 95% instruction and instruction-related support, and 5% service apportionment. This position will have a three-year renewable contract.  The successful candidate must have the ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of diverse and underrepresented students. The University of Nebraska – Lincoln has maintained continuous accreditation of an entry level bachelor's program and is seeking to transition the CAATE accreditation to an entry level master's program. Plans are the final bachelor's cohort will graduate in May 2025 and the initial offering of master's level programming will begin in the summer of 2023. Initially this position will teach the remaining athletic training courses at the bachelor's level, and undergraduate courses that support programs in the Department of Nutrition and Health Sciences. Instruction of the athletic training courses will move from the bachelor's to the master's level as the athletic training program transitions to the graduate level.   Program Administration includes assisting the Program Director in maintaining CAATE accreditation and serving as the Coordinator of Clinical Education ( CCE ) for the remaining bachelor's program, and the master's athletic training program following the transition. Certified Athletic Trainer in good standing with the BOC and eligible for Nebraska Athletic Training Licensure. Demonstrated ability to work with educational needs of diverse and underrepresented students. Three years of contemporary experience as a clinical athletic trainer. Contemporary experience serving as a preceptor for accredited athletic training programs. Ability to work cooperatively with diverse students, staff, faculty and clinical athletic trainers.   Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate degree in a field related to athletic training. Demonstrated record of teaching excellence. Demonstrated record of professional scholarship. Demonstrated record of student engagement and retention in athletic training education.   Job Type: 9 Month
