POSITION PURPOSE
The Manager, Delivery Analytics will create and maintain analytical tools, models and processes to reduce cost and improve speed and reliability of customer deliveries. Key responsibilities to include:
  • Managing ongoing forecasting efforts to improve delivery capacity and service reliability
  • Develop and maintain models to quantify opportunities for freight savings and service improvements
  • Support measurement of success criteria for projects and initiatives
  • Provide ad hoc analysis requested by senior leadership
  • Maintain a positive relationship with business partners by staying in tune with their needs and keeping them up to date on progress

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Develops solutions that leverage the Company' s volumes, systems and partnerships while providing consistently high levels of customer service in a cost-effective manner.
  • Identifies and prioritizes logistics needs and communicates recommendations to upper management in order to achieve efficient product distribution.
  • Provides data and recommendations on product tracking, route analysis, rerouting, costing and usage alternatives.
  • Advises IS and system users in the development and implementation of logistics systems improvements and changes.
  • Responds to Requests for Information (RFI) from potential software vendors.
  • Tests vendor software packages to identify potential shortcomings; ascertains vendors' ability to customize products to Home Depot specifications.

  • Reports to Sr. Manager, Director Sr. Director or VP

  • Typically, once given general assignments, determines priorities and defines what should be done and how to do it.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment:

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Additional Environmental Job Requirements:
Under regular pressure to meet deadlines, quotas and/or must frequently deal with difficult issues related to people or situations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 
5 years

Physical Requirements:

Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong quantitative skills through knowledge of statistics and quantitative data analysis and interpretation.
  • Prior experience with transportation rating and network models including parcel, truckload and LTL
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and change in direction
  • Ability to quickly retrieve, manipulate, analyze, and interpret data
  • Ability to communicate with leadership on various cross-functional projects
  • Experience in statistical analysis and/or forecasting
  • Tableau / Data Visualization / SQL experience
  • Ecommerce delivery experience
  • Advanced degree in Supply Chain Engineering, Analytics, Industrial Engineering or similar is a plus

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
  • Ability to gather, analyze, interpret and derive conclusions based on large sets of data. Advanced Excel skills are mandatory and SQL and/or Tableau experience is preferred.
  • Direct experience managing US drayage operations.
  • Experience procuring drayage rates and/or assisting with an annual bid.
  • Project management experience.
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills.
