The Respiratory Therapist on the Transport Team is responsible for planning, assessing and providing optimal Respiratory Management and Patient Care for the normal and high risk neonatal/pediatric patient. The RRT Transport Therapist is part of a team composed of a Transport Therapist, Nurse and Paramedic all of which are under the medical control of a Texas Licensed Physician. Modes of transport required to transfer patients include: ground ambulance, fixed wing aircraft and rotor wing aircraft.


  • Current permit or license to practice as a Registered Respiratory Therapist is required
  • Associates degree required
  • Minimum 3 years recent Neonatal/Pediatric ICU experience or current Neonatal/Pediatric Transport experience is required
  • CPR – BLS, PALS required. NRP and ACLS required within 90 days of employment
  • TNCC audit or Department approved equivalent must obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Current Advanced Certification (in area of practice and/or as approved by CCMC and Teddy Bear Transport Management) or must obtain within 2 years of hire
