Scheduled Hours 37.5 Position Summary This position coordinates office functions, programs and schedules, provides administrative services, and performs specialized/technical duties with minimum supervision. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Registrarâ™s Office Responsibilities: Oversee forms and processes including, but not limited to: The degree audit process for degree candidates every graduating cycle. Proficiency exams, including timely scoring and results reporting to students and the Registrarâ™s office with tracking for historical purposes. Individualized Proposals of Study. Inter-University Exchange program. Grade changes. Pre-Approval of transfer credits. State licensing requests for current students and alumni. The archive process of student records upon graduation. Other student form submissions. Â Respond to student, staff and faculty initiated requests (email, phone or in person) in a timely, diplomatic manner using tact and discretion while exercising sound judgment in dealing with sensitive situations.Â Provide support to new and/or current projects generated from the Registrarâ™s Office or other departments within the Brown School or Washington University as a whole. Â Financial Aid Responsibilities: Work closely with the Assistant Director of Financial Services to ensure all aid is processed and packaged accurately, compliant with policies, and refunded in a timely manner. Have a current working knowledge of all Federal, and institutional aid offered atÂ the Brown School, including Veteran Benefits. Respond to inquiries made to the Brown School financial aid email account, incoming calls, and when available, in-person student meetings. Provide assistance and support to students in understanding financial aid processes. Provide assistance and be knowledgeable with the intake and processing of documents. Provide student support and education throughout the enrollment and awarding process. Advise students about financial aid eligibility, available financial aid programs; educational costs, financing options, and basic budgeting. Participate in monthly Graduate School meetings for financial aid across university sectors. Â Perform other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications Bachelorâ™s degree or higher. Three to five years of experience in higher education or business. Experience with developing technological advances to improve efficiency. Experience in financial aid or student records. Excellent skills in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to perform exceedingly well in a fast-paced environment with occasional tight deadlines. Ability to interpret, apply, explain and reach sound decisions when faced with a student issue, in accordance with Brown School policies. Ability to work with people from different cultures and various levels of English language skills. Excellent listening skills to be able to identify and match priorities of student needs with Brown School policy, as well as work within team environment to incorporate different styles and expertise. Good organizational skills to set priorities and meet critical deadlines. Excellent time management skills. Keen eye to efficiency in the workplace. Ability to adapt to change and make meaningful contributions to othersâ™ work efforts. Good conflict resolution skills. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent high school and three years of related administrative experience or equivalent work experience. Strong oral and written communication skills. Proficient skills in use of word processing, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). Ability to demonstrate a high level of problem-solving experience.Â Grade G08-H Salary Range $19.56 - $30.35 / Hourly The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
