Position Information: Position Title: Postdoc Research Associate Appointment Type: Post Doc/Trainee Job Description: Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: The Physics and Astronomy Department in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences seeks applications for a postdoctoral research associate. This three-year position will support an early-career scientist to pursue independent research in astronomy and astrophysics and related subjects. The fellow will carry their own research program, although research interests that intersect with those of the Iowa State Astronomy and Astrophysics faculty are preferred. The fellow is expected to publish original research on Astronomy and Astrophysics high-impact peer-reviewed journals, and disseminate results in national and international conferences. The fellow is encouraged to apply to competitive observing and/or computational time on large national and international facilities in support of their research. The fellow must have completed all requirements for a Ph.D. in astronomy, astrophysics or related fields prior to appointment. The fellow is expected to move to Ames at the start of their appointment, and actively participate to the scientific life of the department.
