Requisition Number: F_210142 Department: NE Ctr Research on Youth, Fam & School-4425 Description of Work: Advanced Associate/Full Professor in Social, Behavioral, Educational (SBEd) Research Unique opportunity for a tenured or tenure-seeking Advanced Associate/Full Professor who wishes to dedicate the majority of their time and effort to research and scholarly activity. The successful applicant will be jointly appointed in the Nebraska Center for Research on Children, Youth, Families and Schools ( CYFS ) and an academic department (tenure home) within the College of Education and Human Sciences ( CEHS ) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln ( UNL ). Responsibilities are to a) lead an active line of funded research in an area consistent with the mission of CYFS and CEHS ; b) participate actively on interdisciplinary research teams that extend basic or applied research related to children, youth, families and schools; c) write grants and secure funding for new research; d) contribute to the scholarly literature through the publication of refereed journal articles, books and book chapters, and related technical products, as well as through mechanisms (e.g., nontechnical reports, webinars) that reach non-academic audiences (e.g., practitioners, policymakers, educators) in cooperation with the CYFS communications team; e) support research development efforts among faculty affiliates, post-doctoral fellows, and graduate student researchers/research assistants; and f) contribute to ongoing research initiatives of CYFS and CEHS . Teaching expectations are minimal and negotiable. CYFS ( ) is a highly collegial, interdisciplinary program of excellence that promotes and supports a vibrant grant-active culture in the CEHS and across UNL and the University of Nebraska (NU) system. CYFS is a highly productive research center with an extensive infrastructure that supports faculty for all activities associated with grant proposals (pre-award services such as proposal coordination and budget development) and execution (post-award supports such as science communications and financial management). CYFS also houses the Nebraska Academy for Methodology, Analytics, and Psychometrics, which provides high level statistical and methodological support to faculty both pre- and post-award. CYFS is closely affiliated with several NU institutes and centers, including the Buffett Early Childhood Institute; Center for Brain, Biology and Behavior; Nebraska Public Policy Center; and Center for Children, Families and the Law. Finally, CYFS faculty have an extensive track record of collaborating with other researchers across various units at the University of Nebraska, and in forming productive partnerships with practitioners and educators across the state, nation, and world. CEHS ( ) is dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals, families, schools, and communities and strengthening relationship among them.
