Communications Global Business Unit (CGBU)

Principal Solution Test Engineer - Cloud Native / Telecom Technologies - Remote role

This is a hands-on test position that will involve leading a new team focused on solution-level testing as part of a new project to rebuild Oracle's market-leading Session Border Controller (SBC) product using Cloud Native technologies. This initiative is following an Agile methodology so familiarity with Scrum or Scaled Agile processes are also very beneficial. This position is to specifically support the cloud-native SBC initiative following an Agile CI/CD process.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience in the Telecom Domain.
  • Experience with Linux container orchestration tools and platforms like Docker, OpenShift and Kubernetes.
  • Architect end-to-end software system test strategy.
  • Responsible for testing SBC software features for various software releases.
  • Experience with VoIP technologies based on protocols like SIP, RTP/RTCP, TLS, SRTP, IMS and DNS.
  • 5+ years of experience creating reliable test automation, preferably leveraging Robot Framework.
  • Test Automation experience using TCL or Python.
  • Deep understanding of software development in a team environment, and a track record of shipping software on time is required.
  • Hands-on experience with GIT. Managing deployment and branching with in GIT.
  • Experienced in OCI/AWS/Azure Public cloud services
  • Expert in writing Test Plans, Test procedures and Release plans.
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities targeting complicated problems in remote system.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good understanding of and willingness to learn and adopt professional and industry standards.
  • Must be a good team player.
These skills are not required but nice to have:
  • Experience with cloud-native technologies such as Kibana, EFK, Prometheus, Jaeger & cloud-native databases.
  • Hands on CICD experience.
  • Experience with SIPP, IXIA, SPIRENT or EXFO/Navtel test tools
  • Familiar with Agile process
  • 4-year bachelor degree required. Masters degree in computer science or equivalent is preferred.

Responsible for developing, applying and maintaining quality standards for company products with adherence to both internal and external standards. Develops and executes software test plans. Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures. Maintains documentation of test results. Analyzes test results and recommends corrective actions.

As a member of the technical/process QA division, you will design functional, integration and regression test plans, build and execute manual and automated tests and perform highly complex analysis for multiple products. Set cross-functional product testing standards. Analyze, evaluate and plan methods of approach and organize means to achieve solutions to complex problems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
