Position Summary: Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Director of Campus Programs for Student Centers and Campus Programs. Reporting to the Senior Director for Student Centers and Campus Programs, the Director of Campus Programs is responsible for the strategic leadership of Rutgers University-New Brunswick co-curricular programs, activities, traditions, and events that promote learning and enhance the overall educational and community building for more than 40,000 students. Student Engagement and Campus Programs is part of Student Centers and Activities and is integral in implementing a cohesive programming model and oversees the primary student programming board (Rutgers University Programming Association – RUPA ) which is responsible for coordinating and implementing over 200 annual events along with professional staff driven programs including Homecoming, Senior Days, Lecturer Series, and Late Knight Programming.   Among the key duties of this position are the following: Responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of programs and initiatives that align with the University's strategic goals of creating vibrant learning community attending to the social, cultural, physical, intellectual, and emotional needs of our students to create a sense of belonging and community.  Oversees a team of professional staff, graduate assistants and students to create and implement strategic programs that foster prideful and engaged university community. Engages all students in a variety of educational and community building activities and programs.   Collaborates with other University staff and departments to increase students' understanding of their role within the Rutgers community by providing opportunities that connect classroom learning with the co-curricular experiences.  Responsible for ensuring smooth delivery and continuous improvement for each program, while maintaining consistency of key learning objectives to support student engagement. Serves as a senior member of Student Centers and Activities and manages programs and resources spread across the five campuses of New Brunswick.   Minimum Education and Experience: Master's degree in student affairs administration, higher education or related field or discipline. A minimum three years of experience working in student unions/activities with experience in leadership, student programming, community development, supervision, training and assessment Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent administrative, detail-oriented organizational and communication skills; Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse environment; team and training/facilitation skills. Project management experience. Problem solving in a highly active environment. Ability to complete multiple and concurrent tasks. Proven experience in the development of strong strategic partnerships with student affairs, academic affairs, and other university departments.  Professional staff supervisory skills, training experiences and budget responsibilities.  Proven successful experience working with diverse groups of staff and students. Proven effective experience in recruiting, hiring, training, coaching and mentoring effective teams of students and professionals. Experience advising and programming with diverse student organizations and college students. Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands; a valid driver's license would be required for this position.  Preferred Qualifications: Preferred 7 to 10 years of experience.  Demonstrated experience in leading department and/or divisional initiatives and/or committees.  Proficiency with various technology platforms and applications (Sakai, Canvas, Microsoft Teams) and preferred familiarity with Campus Labs Engage Platform.  Association and/or involvement with professional associations ( ACUI , NACA , NASPA , ACPA ).  Physical Demands and Work Environment: Ability to lift 20 – 25lbs Must be willing to work irregular and flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.  Special Conditions: Clean Driving Record Posting Number: 21ST3210 Location: College Ave (RU-New Brunswick)
