Job Description: Senior Manager, Pharmacist

Summary:
  • The candidate will work in a dynamic and highly automated dispensing pharmacy and will partner with the Director of Pharmacy to ensure pharmacists, technicians, and others meet or exceed productivity, efficiency and quality goals.
  • The candidate will be an active participant in the site leadership team.
  • The candidate will serve as a back-up to the Pharmacist in Charge in Tennessee and other strategic states.
  • The candidate will spend approximately 30% of their time working in a dispensing role.

Position Description:

Assist the Director of Pharmacy in the oversight of pharmacy personnel, operations, compliance, quality, and customer onboarding.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Specific duties will include, but not be limited to:
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining Pharmacy policies in compliance with government rules and regulations
  • Being aware of applicable laws and regulations, including changes to laws and regulations, and providing training to personnel to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Understand confidentiality with respect to patient/ client care; follow all federal and state laws applicable to confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) and electronic protected health information (EPHI); and follow HIPAA guidelines regarding readily identifiable protected health information
  • Recruiting and training new personnel
  • Fostering professional relationships with customers
  • Determining personnel workloads and delegating assignments as necessary
  • Developing and implementing long-term goals to ensure the Pharmacy's efficiency and productivity
  • Ensuring the Pharmacy is properly staffed
  • Ensuring personnel have the proper licenses and training to perform their job duties
  • Ensuring the medications and supplies are stored in compliance with all laws and regulations
  • Maintaining a positive and respectful work environment
  • Promoting teamwork

Critical Requirements:
  • Must be a pharmacist licensed in the state of Tennessee
  • 2-3 of the following addtl licensures required: AL, AR, CA, GUAM, KS, KY, LA, MD, MI, NE, OK, OR, SC, TX, VA, WV
  • Min 3 - 5 years management experience
  • Must be willing to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment

Additional Requirements:
  • Central Fill experience is a plus
  • Safety/Quality/Compliance experience is preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit and stand intermittently for long periods of time

• Ability to bend, reach, and type

• Ability to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 25 lbs.
