At Wells Fargo, we are looking for talented people who will put our customers at the center of everything we do. We are seeking candidates who embrace diversity, equity and inclusion in a workplace where everyone feels valued and inspired.

Help us build a better Wells Fargo. It all begins with outstanding talent. It all begins with you.

The Strategy, Digital and Innovation (SDI) team forges the strategic direction of Wells Fargo, provides and manages our digital foundation and common capabilities, and transforms our business models to meet evolving customer needs and grow the company. The investments we are making will help the company create innovative digital banking experiences, and make it easier for customers to achieve their financial goals.

The WIM Digital team at Wells Fargo is responsible for the strategy, design, and delivery of the client digital experience within Wealth & Investment Management – from Wells Fargo Advisors and The Private Bank to the next generation of online and mobile investing capabilities.  Our goal is to be known as the best place to digitally access your full wealth picture and gain relevant advice across banking, lending, and investing.  We believe that by harnessing the full power of digital, we can enable every client to take the reins to their financial future, with our advice, education, and tools guiding the way to reach their goals.

WIM Digital has several high impact Product Designer (Digital Consultant 2) openings. Preference will be given to candidates in Charlotte NC, St. Louis MO, and San Francisco, CA, though other locations and telecommute will be considered.  WIM Digital is at an exciting moment in its history as it is expanding its delivery capacity to close gaps with competitors and to create new and differentiated experiences for our clients.

The Product Designer is a multifaceted designer, with experience in interaction design, who translates complex investment product requirements and flows into quality digital experiences for brokerage clients that are accessible, intuitive and easy to use. The Product Designer also works with the broader design team to ensure the overall end-to-end experience is cohesive and easy to use. Success comes from understanding the client and business needs, aligning with your partners, simplifying complex processes, producing codable design assets, and ultimately delivering a simple and friendly experience.

To do this effectively, the designer crafts fully articulate designs for account access, research and trading digital services; and clearly communicates them to business and technology partners and stakeholders.  From early research and ideation to final production, this designer collaborates with product, research and technology partners to understand client needs, understand existing behaviors, validate core assumptions and use those learnings to inform their design solutions.

Why you’ll thrive here

You’re a jack of all trades with experience delivering great experiences that cross mobile, web, and beyond. You have experience in 2 or more key areas: Interaction Design, Visual Design, and/or Content Strategy. You like solving complex problems with simplicity, and being the design point person in a cross-functional team. You are detail-oriented but also keep the big picture in mind.

You have a solid understanding of user-centered design tools and best practices and successfully apply them to your work. You know what you can do on your own, and you know when to pull in design reinforcements for support. You enjoy collaborating with a wide range of product managers, developers, and designers to create the best client experience. Finally, you are organized and like getting things done. You are energized by shipping and you have clear examples of measurable impact.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Digital servicing experience and product design, including online and mobile investing (including native mobile apps), core digital platform features, and global components and navigation
  • Delivering great experiences, in partnership with aligned scrum teams and the broader design team, in the areas of: online and mobile investing, money transfer, account management, financial planning, and onboarding
  • Creating common UX deliverables including: Flows, Wireframes, Design Specifications, and elements of Content Decks
  • Partnering closely with product managers, scrum masters, developers, researchers, business analysts, and legal/compliance, from aligning on client and business goals, to managing expectations about design deliverables to shipping the ultimate experience
  • Estimating and scoping design work; ensuring design deliverables are done sprint(s) ahead of development
  • Speaking to the details of the design deliverables and user stories, answering questions and resolving ambiguities
  • Grooming user stories with the scrum team and identifying design-related user stories in the backlog

We’d like to see your work, so we may ask qualified applicants to electronically submit writing samples as well as interim deliverables including, but not limited to design briefs, content inventories, and strategy recommendations.
