We are currently seeking a self-motivated **Inventory Control Clerk** be based in our Sturgeon Falls Distribution Center. Boart Longyear is committed to high quality, safety, environmental and continuous improvement practices. Applicants should be able to demonstrate shared values in this area.

The hours of work will be 8:00am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

In this hands-on role, you will perform administrative and physical tasks involved in reconciling inventory, shipping, receiving, storing, tracking adjustments, and meeting metric targets. This will include root cause analyses to eliminate quality and inventory errors.

As the successful Inventory Control Clerk, you will ensure organization and accuracy of all products

+ Perform inventory adjustments and update changes into the database

+ Preform Cycle Counts to ensure no inventory discrepancies exist.

+ Reconcile inventory discrepancies.

+ Investigate any shipment error claims.

+ Respond to enquiries regarding products and inventories.

+ Prioritize and perform daily workload assigned by Supervisor.

+ Audit departments on shipping, receiving, and picking accuracy.

+ Develop spreadsheets to monitor warehouse activities.

+ Create locators for warehouse.

+ Perform credits/invoices for any shipment errors that occur intercompany

+ Innovate new processes and improvements for the warehouse

+ Document all process and develop SOP’s for the warehouse

+ Investigate any inventory issues and perform weekly counts

+ Investigate and Perform all Quality Audit inquiries

+ Assist Warehouse Manager on Quality Audit Project for Warehouse Development

+ Assist with Warehouse Management for Overtime when Warehouse Lead/Manager is unavailable

+ Train new staff in warehouse policies/procedures

+ Assist in other departments when required to meet warehouse performance needs

+ Assist in Warehouse inventories

+ Review and analyze potential reasoning for inventory discrepancies.

+ Quick and Accurate math skills are required in order to ensure inventory accuracy. Able to follow direction

+ Perform other duties as assigned

You will also be required to process materials to end customers and other Boart Longyear locations.

+ Processing outgoing shipments domestic and export

+ Provide waybills for movement of freight

+ Provide commercial documents for export courier shipments

+ Request B13 documents for export courier shipments

+ Receive and release shipments/orders

+ Enter all non-Oracle movements into OTM

+ Quoting full truck loads for cost savings

+ <1 Day Domestic Shipping Target from Pick Release to Ship Confirm

+ <2 Day Export Shipping Target from Pick Release to Ship Confirm

+ Responsible for picks on the floor and knowing where they are in the process.

+ Moving goods to our export team partner DSV for furtherance to export regions

+ Coming up with 1 improvement a month for the warehouse

+ Training Staff on job functions

+ Providing Pack Lists to CSR’s

+ Attaching documentation inside of Oracle on Shipments

+ Releasing shipments to pick for the warehouse as needed

+ Creating dangerous goods shipping paperwork as needed

+ Coding of freight with GL Account on Waybill

+ Attentive to detail

+ Computer efficient

+ Keep and verify records

+ Ability to create waybills and various documents required for shipping purposes

+ Perform other duties as assigned

**Required** **Skills and Experience**

The successful applicant will possess the following skills and experience:

+ 3+ years of directly related experience

+ Experience in warehousing, supply chain, logistics or similar.

+ Must be forklift certified and hold a valid driver’s license. Forklifts and order pickers are used to carry merchandise to loading or delivery areas.

+ Proficient in MS office, Software (IBM environments): Microsoft Windows, strong Microsoft Word, Microsoft-Office Applications, strong Microsoft Excel (Oracle experience is considered an asset for this position) and strong data entry skills

+ Microsoft Excel Skills – Expert excel skills are required for the development of spreadsheets and tracking of the warehouse matrix using a database.

+ Microsoft Word Skills – Expert word skills are required in order to provide detailed reports to the warehouse manager in an organized format.

+ Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work to coordinate activities and meet established schedules or project deadlines.

+ High attention to detail: To ensure the correct type and number of items in a location and accurate movement of goods to the correct location.

+ Strong team player skills

+ Physical demands include extensive standing, squatting, reaching, walking, bending, heavy lifting and sitting often in combination. Must possess the strength and stamina to lift sometimes large and heavy merchandise or shipping containers.

+ Effective communication skills (both written and oral)

+ Work in a fast-paced team environment

+ A demonstrated knowledge of computerized inventory control, inventory management and general warehousing terminology and practices.

+ Must be willing to travel to other facilities over 25% of the time.

+ Must be willing to work extended hours during peak business levels

+ Must have experience with inventory controls and functions in a warehousing environment including ERP transaction

+ Ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering key performance indicators in regards to inventory and other areas

**Reporting Relationship**

The position reports directly to the Distribution Center Manager in Sturgeon Falls.
