The Global Positioning System (GPS) Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team is looking for a Reliability, Maintainability and Availability (RMA) Engineer. The GPS SE&I Team provides specialized engineering, analysis, operations support, and subject matter expertise to GPS programs. As a member of our GPS SE&I team, you’ll work in a high-paced environment with Government personnel and system developers to ensure GPS remains the gold standard for position, navigation and timing.

Major duties of the position include:

  • Provide expertise and guidance regarding reliability, maintainability and availability processes, methods and standards to support the various GPS Programs.
  • Support the GPS Government Team by evaluating, monitoring, and advising the prime contractors and subcontractors regarding integration of producibility principles and practices, qualification of manufacturing methods and processes, inclusion of alternate designs and capabilities, and risk identification.
  • Review manufacturing analyses to ensure inclusion of producibility analysis, manufacturing and production inputs to system effectiveness, trade studies, and life cycle cost analyses
  • Assess prime contractors and subcontractors to determine if items are producible and stable manufacturing processes are in place to reduce risk, manufacturing cost, lead time, and cycle time.
  • Support manufacturing/production readiness reviews and associated manufacturing audits and risk reduction activities.
  • Prepare assessments for Government Team to include but not be limited to prime contractors and subcontractor manufacturing process, producibility principles and practices, and system design adequacy.
  • Identify, document and track hardware and software assurance and quality issues and corrective measures.
Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Math, or Science
  • Must have an active Secret clearance
  • 8+ years of overall Specialty Engineering experience, 3+ years of Reliability, Maintainability and Availability experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of Reliability, Maintainability and Availability practices, techniques, and procedures
  • Demonstrated experience working with or for the government on a government Space systems program
  • Experience and familiarity working with Reliability, Maintainability and Availability military standards and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to enable working, interfacing, and interrelating with diverse personnel and dynamic teams.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, specifically attention to detail
Preferred Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a similar field.
  • GPS experience is highly desired
  • Experience and familiarity working with DoD acquisition organizations
