Software Engineer - Military Veterans

LinQuest is seeking a Software Engineering professional to provided expertise to the Space and Terrestrial Communications Directorate (S&TCD), SATCOM Division, Independent Test and Certification Branch (IT&C) at Aberdeen Proving Ground in support of the Protected Tactical Waveform (PTW) Conformance initiative. The successful candidate will serve as a liaison between an outside software engineering/scripting agency and the IT&C PTW team. The IT&C seeks a candidate with skills in software development, test automation, and system automation.

As a member of the IT&C PTW team, you will be involved in the entire software/scripting development life cycle, from design and development, all the way through to maintenance and support of the delivered product. This position will place you in a role where you will have the opportunity to make a direct impact on our project and future Department of Defense communications topologies.

Responsibilities:



  • Provide Software Engineering support to the IT&C Branch
  • Software and script development and hardware and software integration on systems which are the essential building blocks in the testing of communications systems
  • Participate in the planning and execution of test and evaluation activities
  • Decompose technical requirements and capabilities into executable scripts
  • Participate in system-level technical and operational testing
  • Assist in creating and developing test scenarios for PTW Conformance Use Cases
  • Continuous development, integration, and testing support for the IT&C PTW Conformance Program
Required Skills:

  • Direct and recent experience dealing with testing methodologies and frameworks for Python
  • Knowledge of data structures, computer system architectures, software development methodologies
  • Testing and integration of software/scripting related to C5ISR
  • Software/Script development, test automation, and system automation


Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Math, Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or relevant technical field
  • Experience within DoD satellite communications community
  • Experience with modem/waveform theory
  • CompTIA exam certifications such as Security+, Network+, or equivalent certifications


Required Experience:

  • 10 plus years of Software Engineering experience.
  • An active Secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
