LinQuest is seeking a Senior Operations Research Engineer to work with our team at Wright Patterson AFB in Fairborn, OH.

Support the Air Force Research Labs Aerospace Systems Directorate (AFRL/RQ) in the development evaluation of future aerospace vehicles for the Air Force by utilizing advanced aerospace assessment and simulation facilities along with government off the shelf tools to perform comprehensive modeling and simulation, test and analysis of new advanced technologies as applied to concept air vehicles.

This project entails working with an interdisciplinary research team contributing to furthering the research, planning, design, financial out-year programming, analysis, and reporting (or combinations thereof) to concept/prototype or modifications to existing air vehicles as well as the capability assessments and mobility of the current and future fleet through studies and analyses. Many of the overall goals of the projects being worked within this group are to improve operational effectiveness and energy performance through science and technology investments. As such, many of the concepts studied are highly detailed and require participants to be detail oriented and have a scientific/engineering background.


  • Utilize experience to help identify and document project requirements and recommend appropriate modeling approach with identified risk mitigations
  • Support the Project Lead with the development and execution of study plans
  • Assist with project members in study analysis; Consult with external SMEs as necessary
  • Develop and present study findings to both internal and external senior government leadership
  • Support and participate in team meetings with company and customer personnel
Required Skills and Experience:

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering-related, Mathematics, other related discipline
  • At least 10 years’ experience in Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical area
  • At least 10 years' analysis experience
  • Knowledge, understanding, and ability to apply Operations Research principles
  • Experience with engagement-level through campaign-level MS&A tools (e.g., Thunder, STORM, AFSIM, AMP, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a small-medium sized team (5-10 person) environment where communication and flexibility are key
  • Must have an active Secret clearance to be considered for the position
Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • 10+ years’ experience with US Military Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures
  • Experience with aircraft dynamics and military mission planning
  • Scripting and programming experience
