Job Description:

GDIT is seeking a DevSecOps Automation Solution Architect to join our team!  You will support Digital Consulting and Solution activities in the GDIT Office of Chief Technology Officer.   You will be trusted to help drive the technical solutions needed to win our most complex, large-scale, and strategic pursuits as well as extend our existing Application Services portfolio. You will be on the Application Services capabilities team; which is a five person team reporting to the App Services Capabilities Lead. This is one our most important roles, and it will give you the opportunity to join a lean team to help define, execute, and grow GDIT’s application services capabilities across the enterprise.

You will have the opportunity to keep your skills sharp and continually grow by applying both traditional and emerging software development skills and technologies.  We have amazing labs with access to emerging technology to build compelling solutions, pilots, and proofs.  You will help define how these capabilities meet our customers current and future needs and priorities, and craft technical solutions responsive to those needs.  Helping to shape customer acquisitions, and position GDIT to win make this both a challenging and rewarding opportunity!

This position can be remote with occasional travel to the DC Metro Area. 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Develop effective and compelling briefings, proposal materials, reusable artifacts, and related materials for use by our customers, both internal and external.

  • Lead development of proposal technical volumes and orals presentations

  • Coach and advise solution architects and proposal support resources

  • Review proposals and provide critical feedback needed to strengthen our solution

  • Plan and help execute prototyping and technical implementation efforts

  • Your success in this role will directly impact GDIT’s technical capabilities across our divisions and fuel our growth.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 15 + years of relevant experience

  • 7+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of DevSecOps continuous integration and delivery experience

  • 3+ years developing software products in Cloud environments.

  • Expertise in DevSecOps automation, and Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Deployment (CD), Lean, and Agile Scrum/Kanban development techniques, best practices and tools.

  • End-to-end Agile Lifecycle Management, Test, Build, Deployment, Security and Application Monitoring CI/CD pipeline automation solutions (i.e., Jira, GitLab/GitHub, Selenium, Cucumber, Bamboo, Ant/Maven, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Sonatype Nexus/CheckMarx, New Relic, AppDynamics etc.)

  • Cloud-native application architecture and design experience including containerized microservice, service mesh, API and event-driven architectures

  • Application containerization and orchestration solutions (i.e., Docker, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift)

  • Test-driven, and Behavior-driven Development (TDD / BDD)

  • Java/J2EE/JEE/.Net(C#) or comparable application architecture, design and development experience

  • Development framework and design pattern experience including Model View Controller, React, AngularJS, Node.js, JSON, Spring, Hibernate, Struts, Bootstrap, Responsive UI and/or comparable

  • SQL, RDBMS (i.e. Oracle, MS SQLServer) and NoSQL Database solutions (i.e. MarkLogic, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Neo4J, etc.)

  • Experience working with large data sets including data integration, data migration, analysis and visualization

  • Certifications in Software development, DevSecOps, and Cloud-Native architecture specialization

  • Ability to attain Public Trust and/or DoD Secret

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree

  • Active Secret Clearance

  • Experience with cloud-native software architecture frameworks -  including Open-Source and Commercial distributions (OCI-compliant containerized microservices, REST API, Kubernetes deployment and orchestration) and Cloud-based services (AWS Lambda, EKS, Azure DevOps, AKS)

  • Experience with DevSecOps CI/CD pipeline automation, integration and onboarding of software development teams to accelerate value delivery

  • Demonstrated experience developing and scaling engineering solutions for both structured and unstructured data

  • Strong communication skills to communicate with customers, support personnel and stakeholders
