For graduates with a Facilities related degree (Electrical Engineer, Mechanical/Chemical Engineer, and Controls Engineer), we’ve got a rotation program designed for you! About the program

In this program, you’ll be immersed in meaningful assignments giving you real-world experience and sense of ownership. As a participant in FOCUS you’ll rotate through two diverse and challenging positions within Facilities during a 2-year period. As a Facilities Engineer you’ll be directly responsible for building utility systems in support of a semiconductor wafer fab. TI Facilities operates over 150 different utility systems that include chemicals, gasses, variety of electrical systems, water systems, HVAC, waste, vacuum, and controls. These systems are designed to run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without interruption, creating a state-of-the-art manufacturing environment. Facilities works closely with TI’s manufacturing team to understand how the utility systems impact the process as well as how to reduce consumption.

As a Facilities Engineer here's a list of potential roles you could be working on:

Power Distribution Engineer (Electrical Engineering) - Responsible for the design, construction, install, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and project managing of electrical distribution systems (120 V to 15 kV) to support the semiconductor wafer fabrication facilities.

Plant Process Engineer (Chemical or Mechanical Engineer) - Develop, implement, and manage innovative projects that improve the reliability and efficiency of the industrial fabrication facilities and system processes, all while assessing the full equipment life cycle.  

Plant Controls and Automation Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical Engineer) - Focused on designing, programming, implementing, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining programmable logic controllers and their instrumentation to control the mechanical system processes that support our fabrication facilities.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing requested projects and equipment installations, including project resources, schedules and budgets
  • Providing technical support to the Facilities organization as a system expert over time
  • Teaming with other engineering disciplines, management, internal customers, and suppliers to ensure projects and systems are cost effective, within budget, meet the desired design criteria and schedule guidelines
  • Communicating and documenting the sequence of operations and design intent to others requiring information
  • Providing capacity/demand analysis of utility systems and planning to support growth when required
  • Providing analysis of critical utility systems to understand risks and developing solutions based on assessment
  • Developing and reviewing maintenance and operational procedures to ensure best practices are in place and documented properly
  • Designing and managing turnkey projects and coordinating contract work in the field

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum BS/BA in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum Cumulative 3.0/4.0 GPA
