As Senior Applications Engineer, you will work closely with development teams, operations, lead engineers and managers to develop tools and frameworks to be used by thousands of developers. You will define, develop and maintain automated processes to improve developer productivity. You will work on automation and tooling related to engineering processes, CI/CD, unit/functional test, performance, scalability and reliability. You will provide technical guidance to a large number of scrum teams. You will lead initiates related to optimization of engineering processes and develop solutions to improve engineering velocity.

Qualifications

- Minimum 5+ years of software development and testing experience.

- Proficiency in Java (must)

- Proficiency in performance tuning/profiling of applications (highly desired)

- Proficiency in Service based application development (highly desired)

- Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks (highly desired)

- Exposure to Javascript based framework (desired)

- Exposure to DevOps/SRE domain (desired)

- Experience working with large global organization and building enterprise grade software in agile setting preferred. Experience working with geographically dispersed team desired

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical content to both technical and non-technical peers, customers, and at times, executive leadership

- Self-driven to keep moving things forward even in the face of ambiguity and imperfect knowledge

Analyze, design develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for commercial or end user applications. Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will perform high-level design based on provided external specifications. Specify, design and implement minor changes to existing software architecture. Build highly complex enhancements and resolve complex bugs. Build and execute unit tests and unit plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering as necessary to discuss minor changes to product functionality and to ensure quality and consistency across specific products.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
