The Digital Technology and Innovation group supports the Corporate Strategy, Digital Platform & Innovation Business. Together they work closely to continue evolving Wells Fargo’s digital platforms and enhance integration of the innovation pipeline into our customer-facing capabilities.

We are hiring Principal Engineer to join Wells Fargo Chatbot Virtual Assistant (CVA) team. We are looking for someone who is stimulated by challenges and are ready to engage with systems at scale. Someone who can test, learn and do POC and should be having experience in micro services architecture, messaging and cloud technologies.

Your responsibility will be to architect and build scalable and high-performing services that handle millions of customer conversations monthly. Demonstrate up-to-date expertise and apply this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices, supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs and building commitment for perspectives and rationales.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineering to design, develop, and deliver Core Frameworks that will be reused across the Digital and Innovations group
  • Collaborate with engineering and architecture to define the technology strategy
  • Understanding technology trends, where the industry is moving, then how it can be incorporated into CVA
  • Collaborate with vendor partners and Cloud Service Providers to effectively utilize the skills to help modernize applications

Selected candidate will be required to work within one of the following Wells Fargo locations: 3340 Walnut Ave, Fremont, CA; 301 S College St., Charlotte, NC; 100 W Washington St, Phoenix, AZ. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of engineering experience; or 10+ years of experience in a technical management role
  • 7 + years of Core Java experience
  • 5+ years of experience in microservices development

Desired Qualifications

  • A Masters degree or higher in computer science or finance
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • 3+ years of Agile experience
  • 4+ years of public cloud experience
  • 5+ years of experience working with middleware vendor messaging technologies
  • 5+ years of experience delivering complex enterprise wide information technology solutions

Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
