Requisition Number: F_210136 Department: Textiles Merchan & Fashion Design UNL-1042 Description of Work: The Department of Textiles, Merchandising & Fashion Design is seeking to fill a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor with a focus on Merchandising. This is a full-time, 9-month appointment with a 60% teaching, 30% research, and 10% service apportionment. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in areas including but not limited to merchandising, retail buying, data analytics, and acquisitions and allocations; participate in recruitment initiatives at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; and advise graduate students as appropriate. The faculty member is required to establish an innovative independent, inter- or intra-departmental research program that is carried out at a level that attracts national and/or international attention. The faculty member is expected to seek and secure external funding and to publish scholarly outcomes in peer reviewed journals and through presentations at professional meetings. The successful candidate must have the ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of diverse students including underrepresented minorities.    Textiles, Merchandising, & Fashion Design is a dynamic department that embodies the three primary missions of the university, namely teaching, research and service/extension. The department is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design and is a member of the National Retail Federation. Individual faculty also hold memberships in academic organizations such as the International Textile and Apparel Association and the American Collegiate Retailing Association.
