The Senior Regulatory Control Advisor is responsible for establishing and maintaining control frameworks designed to manage Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), Common Reporting Standard (CRS) and to support Illiquid Operations. The Senior Regulatory Control Advisor implements operational processes related to FATCA, CRS and Illiquid Operations. The Senior Regulatory Control Advisor is in regular interaction with the front office where required as part of their process or in assisting with specific Level 1 FATCA, CRS or Illiquid Operations advice. The Senior Regulatory Control Advisor works with subject matter experts and other teams from across the function and proactively develops and maintains consultative working relationships with internal stakeholders.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Entity Classification & Registration - oversee FATCA/CRS classification process for new DWS entities, collect required details, and liaise with LEDM Team for FATCA GIIN where applicable; Entity Reconciliation - liaise with Tax Operations and LEDM Team to ensure final reporting is completed prior to de-registering closed entities and run cross functional/divisional programs to ensure DWS Americas meets regulatory expectations
  • FATCA/CRS Compliance Control Framework - ensure compliance to the FATCA and CRS Compliance Control Frameworks, perform periodic reviews of DWS LOBs to ensure compliance with FATCA/CRS requirements; FATCA Periodic Certification - provide DWS FATCA Responsible Officer periodic review evidence, results, and remediation for all DWS entities deemed in-scope for FATCA to support Periodic Certification to the IRS
  • Illiquid Operations - experience in Alternatives Investment Fund regimes (fund structures, asset classes); advanced knowledge of US investment fund laws and governance topics. Cover compliance relevant topics and ensure a proper and robust governance around the fund vehicles/investment structures; this contains the regular monitoring of Errors & Breaches with existing policies, conflict of interests, and support of the Business with regards to investigations of the Internal Audit function in both the investigation phase and in mitigation of audit findings
  • Onboarding - maintain FATCA/CRS-compliant client onboarding process across DWS LOBs, collect monthly on-boarding MI on client documentation status, FATCA classification of undocumented accounts, respective aging, and approved exceptions, monitor US-sourced payments subject to withholding for undocumented accounts, oversee Change in Circumstance of clients to ensure that classification is kept up to date
  • Withholding & Reporting - monitor application of FATCA withholding and remittance to the IRS, monitor compliance to withholding and account reporting requirements to local regulators and IRS, ensure identification of FATCA reportable clients, and perform account reporting
  • Third Party Service Providers - Manage vendor population for FATCA compliance responsibility, including on-boarding, due diligence, withholding & reporting; monitor vendor adherence to the Bank's TPSP Control Framework and monitor attestation from vendors based on the Bank's policy, and maintain TPSP Matrix which captures details of TPs engaged across AM entities and their compliance with FATCA/CRS

Your Skills and Experience:
  • Strong knowledge of the asset management industry, US laws, rules and regulations
  • Tax/Compliance/Regulatory background is preferred
  • Work closely with key stakeholders include Finance, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Product, etc. to ensure key deliverables and initiatives across the region are met
  • Excellent Microsoft skills (especially Word and Excel); Project management skills are a plus
  • Good organizational skills and ability to effectively prioritize work, demonstrating flexibility when handling multiple tasks and timely decision making
