Overview & Reponsibilities:

The MTV Entertainment Group’s Communications team is looking for an upbeat and hard-working public relations pro to join the team. MTV Entertainment Group consists of MTV, Comedy Central, Paramount Network, Pop TV, VH1, Smithsonian, TV Land, CMT, Logo. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing creative publicity campaigns for content across the brands and their respective content studios including original series, signature tentpole events (eg. The VMAs), key initiatives and more. They will work closely with executives across all departments, talent and producing partners and report to a NY based VP. Come join the team!


Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Developing and carrying out strategic publicity campaigns that incorporate both new and traditional tactics

  • Prepare press materials including releases, media alerts, show synopses, talent biographies, pitches, tip sheets and itineraries

  • Plan and execute press events and appearances, including set visits, screenings, junkets and more

  • Foster and maintain strong media contacts

  • Forge relationships with key external partners, including producers, showrunners and talent representatives


Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in entertainment– film/TV/digital, studio or agency

  • Strong writing and editing skills; with a keen attention to detail

  • Experience working with Talent and Management


Additional Qualifications:

  • Able to take initiative, with a strong work ethic and graceful under pressure

  • A passion for pop culture and a strong knowledge of the entertainment industry
