Nissan Automotive – Benchmarking / Marketability Engineer

We are currently looking for a Benchmarking / Marketability Engineer to join our team in Farmington Hills, Michigan. The Test engineer will be responsible for marketability development focused on Nissan and Infiniti vehicles sold in North America. This includes performance target setting, vehicle evaluation and assessments of vehicle performance. The engineer will interact daily with staff throughout the Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Product Planning organizations.

Job functions:

  • Conducting static dynamic evaluations of Nissan, Infiniti, and competitor vehicles.
  • Setting vehicle- and system-level performance targets for assigned vehicle programs.
  • Documenting all test and development activities through test reports and meeting minutes
  • Defining the essential factors to improve attractiveness of Nissan products and reduce customer dissatisfaction.
  • Planning, scheduling and carrying out tests, plant audits and launch support to assess full vehicle performance target achievement.
  • Leading project development activities and communicating effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Benchmarking of competitive vehicle performance, specifications, and features to understand opportunities for further improvements and cost optimizations.
  • Review of internal and external survey data for customer feedback in conjunction with media reviews to assess product acceptance and performance.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is Required
  • 0-4 years of total engineering experience.
  • Exposure to Siemens-NX, Catia or other CAD PDM programs
  • Ability to travel within North America approximately 15-20%
  • Automotive internship / co-op experience is highly preferred
  • Candidates must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident
