The Healthcare Global Business Unit brings comprehensive, end-to-end solutions to the healthcare industry to support best practices and reduce costs. Oracle's healthcare-specific industry applications help ensure quality care and decrease patient safety concerns through the integration of clinical, financial, genomic data and the ability to analyze patient-specific information.

The successful applicant will:
  • Develop healthcare cloud data platforms, define genomics and clinical data types and data models. Create data load and data management workflows to process large clinical/genomics datasets.
  • Develop highly performing data access layers, assist UI developers in designing and coding efficient data access procedures
  • Prepare automated unit tests and perform code reviews.
  • Document architecture, design, code, policies and procedures.
  • Work in an agile environment with development team, analysts and product managers to define, prioritize, clarify requirements and translate target designs into corresponding software implementations.
Ideal candidates should be possessing strengths in one or more areas with active interest in developing/expanding expertise on other areas. A mindset of learning and leveraging various capabilities in the Database, Cloud services eco-system and leveraging these effectively to solve requirements is desired.

Preferred Qualifications
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent demonstrated experience
  • 6+ years of experience in backend software development.
  • Experience with JSON, Java or Python, scripting
  • Working knowledge of Apache Spark or similar technologies, Enterprise Data Lakes, and Data Warehousing
  • Working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases.

Analyze, design develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for commercial or end user applications. Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
