We build tools and services for new Infrastructure-as-a-Service technologies that operate at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. Our mission is to give our customers best-in-class DevOps services to manage their code, build and deployments within OCI. We're looking for hands-on engineers with expertise and passion in building DevOps platforms for our customers. We want to make DevOps a pleasant experience for our customers. This set of services will include a Code Repo Service, Build Pipeline Service, Deployment Service.

As a Senior member you will own software architecture and development of Oracles DevOps Services. You should be both a rock solid coder and a distributed systems generalist, able to dive deep into any part of the stack, as well as design broad distributed system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn. You will have an opportunity to mentor and guide junior engineers.

Basic Qualifications:
  • 7+ years experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.
  • Experienced with microservice design patterns and service-to-service communication protocols along with developing highly reliable services
  • Experience driving architecture and working with product managers through the product life cycle
  • Hands on experience in your current role in Java, C#, Python, or similar object oriented languages
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
  • Good understanding of databases, SQL services, caching technologies, multi-tenant systems, and container based services development and deployment

Preferred Qualifications:

- Prior development experience with developer productivity tools is a plus

- Bachelors/Masters / PhD degree in Computer Science or related engineering fields

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
