The Oracle Advertising team is looking for a Senior UX Researcher with a passion for improving customer experience and driving highly visible programs that will impact product designs used by some of top brands and agencies. You will be part of the core design team that develops new features; from validating early ideas, to making sure what we give to users is awesome and exciting through usability testing. As a Sr. UX Researcher, you will be responsible for owning the development of research and insights that drive the way our organization understands and designs for our customers and user groups. You will have expertise in qualitative research methods and comfort with quantitative methods (when to use them, working with teammates on them, applying them etc.). You will work closely with the UX designers, product managers, and engineers to understand the needs of advertisers and users.


• You will craft and conduct ethnographic and usability UX research studies, and dive deep into the data to bring forward new insights that drive product innovation. To empower a research-led organization, you will also empower the broader UX and product teams with guidance and tools for self-service research to contribute to your research strategy.

• You will advocate for our customers and evangelize your findings to senior executives, stakeholders, and team members. Your most important mission is to champion the voice of our customers in all stages of development.

• Independently define project scope and apply appropriate methodologies to manage a research \"portfolio\" of foundational and evaluative insights

• Conduct on-site, remote, and in-field user research studies with customers and internal experts

• Work closely with other researchers and data analysts to develop strategies for building a centralized research practice that supports Oracle Advertising product development.

• Share tangible findings and prioritized recommendations on a regular basis, to encourage marketplace health and drive OA's business goals

• Promote proven user research methodologies across the company

Basic Qualifications:

• BA/BS in HCDE, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, or similar degree - or equivalent 5 years of professional experience conducting user research.

• Knowledge of the field of human-computer interaction, experimental design, observational and field methods and data analysis.

Preferred Qualification

• Master's degree plus 5+ years of research experience in a quantitative field or 7+ years professional experience of conducting innovative, multi-method research studies that improve the quality of existing and new products.

• Conducting research studies at all stages from discovery to validation, using a variety of methods to understand customer needs and define opportunities such as usability studies, card sorting, field studies, journey mapping, cognitive walk-throughs, contextual inquiry, participatory design.

• A strong portfolio of past work experience and deliverables: demonstrating impact, including generative and evaluative research, and showing track record of managing and executing large research efforts from start to finish.

• The ability to carry out competitor research, deconstructing information architecture and rebuilding user flows.

• The ability to understand, analyze, and interpret complex data.

• The ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously, and multi-task in an agile environment.

• Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.

• Expert user of a wide range of digital tools for conceptualizing, designing, and prototyping e.g. Adobe CS, Sketch, Userzoom, Invision, Figma, Video editing etc...

• Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects across functional teams, including engineering, merchandising, design, marketing, finance, and operations.

• Demonstrated thought-leadership with a passion for translating data into action.

• Experience in accessibility testing and standards.

Responsible for creating, evaluating and modifying prototypes to support evolving hardware and software application development.

As a member of the User Experience team, you will develop and apply software design/usability processes in the investigation of technical problems. May develop user profiles, with emphasis on human error control, display issues, visual interaction, physical manipulation and task and objective analyses. Provide product usability, evaluation and support to product development teams, including the analysis and investigation of applications/systems including tactile methods, visual graphics, web, multimedia, voice response and conversational user interaction. May assist in developing design concept and implementation, providing input on user design considerations. May produce specifications describing user needs and internal structures for product in development.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.
