**Job Description :**

**GENERAL OVERVIEW:**

Responsible for providing strategic direction and operational leadership to all Patient Access departments to ensure support and accomplishment of the organization's financial goals, through well-organized, efficient, and effective front-end processes.

**ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:**

+ Reviews, recommends, and implements changes to Scheduling, Pre-Registration, Insurance Verification, and Registration related business processes, software applications, hardware and network communications. (25%)

+ Develops and directs appropriate front-end processes in the admitting, bed management, pre-registration insurance verification, and financial counseling areas ensuring maximum reimbursement for services. (20%)

+ Develops and ensures Patient Access policies and procedures are consistent across facilities. Responsible for Scheduling, Pre-Registration, Insurance Verification, Patient Registration functions and services for the system. (20%)

+ Recommends operating and capital budgets and monitors allocation of resources. Develops management, statistical and audit reports. (10%)

+ Maintains compliance with regulatory, legislative, and JCAHO standards relating to patient access. (10%)

+ Operationalizes performance improvement efforts. (10%)

+ Responsible for Financial Counseling process in accordance with established federal, state and third party payer guidelines across the health system. (5%)

**QUALIFICATIONS:**

Minimum

+ Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Care or related field

+ Ten (10) years of direct work experience in Patient Access Services or Patient Financial Services; or 5 years’ experience in consultant role focused on revenue cycle, financial services or patient access
