The Facilities Specialist prepares plans, specifications, cost estimates and schedules for moderately complex building construction, rearrangements, maintenance, facilities installation and floor layouts used in plant construction and/or manufacturing shop floor. Schedules and arranges work on projects in accordance with production requirements. Supervises and inspects work in progress to determine that work meets specifications. Outlines projects and prepares drawings as required. Designs and directs installation efforts for Facilities, safety and environmental devices or equipment required to meet Federal, State or local standards.

 Salary Range  &70,000 to $80,000 a year

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    • Prioritized work assignments; provide feedback for progress or problems to solution. Expedite repairs in most cost efficient and timely manner.
    • Provide project management for facilities expansion/renovation projects. Ensure on time completion of projects within budget.
    • Deal with local and outside vendors in the acquisition or replacement or new materials projects
    • Direct efforts of contract labor projects
    • Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates and schedules for moderately complex building construction, rearrangements, maintenance, facilities installation and floor layouts.
    • Serve as a member of the safety inspection teams as the representative of the facilities department
    • Work with the Facilities Manager to maintain, secure, repair, and improve facility and production equipment while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local laws, and corporate policies pertaining to environmental safety and hazardous waste.
    • Coordinate and work with in-house departments and external vendors for facility maintenance and improvement projects.
    • Track and report key departmental performance indicators, such as departmental budget compliance, and injury and safety violations. Prepare monthly reports for management on all departmental issues and accomplishments.

  • Good knowledge of applicable codes, OSHA, Good Manufacturing Practices, environmental regulations and ISO standards.


Education/Experience Requirements

4 year degree from an accredited college or university and 1+ yr. of related experience OR directly related exempt level work experience.

Travel Requirements

10% or less
