SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The Manufacturing Supervisor II directs and coordinates activities of production in processing materials and/or manufacturing products by performing the following duties either personally or through subordinates. This role places emphasis on inter-departmental collaboration through strong leadership as well as driving accountability for their team’s actions. Employee engagement is a key driver for this role. Additionally, leads, coaches and provides effective feedback and supervision to all operators. Owns area KPIs of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost.

This position provides coverage to 2nd shift. Shift hours are from 2:00pm- 10:30pm.

REPORTING TO: Value Stream Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains a safe working environment for their employees and enforces safety policies. Drives safety culture through proactive measures such as JHA’s (Job Hazard Analysis) and safety audits.
  • Directly supervises a shift of production employees with the goal of meeting/exceeding requirements for Safety, Quality, OTD, WO accuracy, attainment to standards, and cost
  • Develops and manages a high-performing, flexible team that is able to shift rapidly to respond to the needs of customers
  • Communicates across shifts and departments to maintain clear alignment in daily immediate priorities on the execution of the critical few.
  • Drive daily DMS at the cell level through the Gemba boards. Track and trend cell level performance to target. Identify opportunities for improvement by utilizing the Pareto principle. Coordinate and lead corresponding activities to eliminate high bar
  • Responsible for employee engagement and retention
  • Engrain IDEX values into the operation’s culture
  • Drive continuous improvement through the cells utilizing different lean principles to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Ensures all company policies and procedures are adhered to by carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
    • Responsibilities include: involvement in interviewing, onboarding, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Drive accountability through safety, quality, and standard work audits.
  • Owns and improves area’s 5s scores in alignment with plant wide 5s program.
  • Supports operations during weekend and off shift hours when needed.
  • Develops and masters key lean principles that are critical for cell improvement. Champions training, education and practice within the cell.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or
  • Minimum of 4-year experience in people management
  • Minimum of 2-year experience in high volume manufacturing

  • Distance and peripheral vision are required to monitor production operation, and for safety.

  • The estimated compensation for this position is 65,000-90,000;
  • This position may be eligible for 5% company discretionary bonus;
