About the Job
Texas Instruments (TI) is looking for an experienced Industrial Controls Engineer to join our Worldwide Facilities Team. You will be directly responsible for building utility systems in support of a semiconductor wafer fab. TI Facilities operates over 150 different utility systems that include chemicals, gasses, variety of electrical systems, water systems, HVAC, waste, vacuum, and controls. These systems are designed to run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without interruption, creating a state of the art manufacturing environment. Facilities works closely with TI’s manufacturing team to understand how the utility systems impact the process as well as how to reduce consumption.

Responsibilities include:

  • Driving SCADA/PLC programming projects to completion.
  • Collaborates with internal customers and SCADA/PLC development team in the Philippines.
  • Manages remote team for quality and schedule.
  • Works with internal customers for accurate scope of work.
  • Oversees and manages commissioning of SCADA/PLC projects.
  • Drives the development of SCADA/PLC framework and solutions
  • Collaborates with industry and internal subject matter experts (SME) advising on technical strategies
  • Works with the Controls Process System teams in both the USA and Asia to continuously improve PLC/SCADA implementation processes.
  • Provides technical oversight and support to cross-functional groups during design and delivery of projects with SCADA components
  • Updates and maintains operating and SCADA system standards, policies, and procedures
  • Applies technical knowledge to develop clear and standard work instructions
  • Leads by example with a strong work ethic and a “get the job done” approach
  • Has excellent time and project management skills, including effectively allocating time and resources, clearly tracking project progress, and delivering accurate results by deadlines

Minimum Requirements:

  • Three years of related experience is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering preferred.

  • Demonstrated strong customer service orientation and ability to take ownership for issue resolution
  • Expert knowledge of controls systems and SCADA
  • Proficient in programming of PLCs and in understanding of communication networks
  • Experience in application of controls and instrumentation for process systems (process cooling water, hot water, air systems, exhaust, etc.) is desired
  • Proficient with PC hardware and windows based applications
  • Ability to analyze existing systems and associated monitoring equipment to troubleshoot and resolve problems
  • Basic understanding of PID loop tuning, ladder/structure programming, charts and trending
  • Ability to develop and update Process and Instrumentation Diagrams, Sequence of Operations, I/O lists, panel drawings and instrumentations lists
