The scheduler is responsible for the development of schedules for refueling and forced outages.  Prepares and analyzes daily work schedules to optimize equipment available and manpower usage.  This position also updates and publishes daily work schedules and monitors progress during outages.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop logic driven, resource leveled outage schedules based on plant and procedures knowledge with input from various departments.
  • Participate and lead planning meetings in planning, scheduling and executing outage activities and projects.
  • Ensure outage schedule is designed to ensure compliance with safe shutdown requirements.
  • Obtain reports from SAP and Primavera P6 to track outage scope, planning progress and emergent activities. 
  • Perform critical path analysis during schedule development and execution.
  • Participate in outage scope meetings.
  • Updates schedules during outages with progress and emergent activities.
  • Monitors progress of forced outage and refueling outage readiness and milestone adherence.



  • Operations experience is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years nuclear power plant experience required in maintenance, I&C, operations, engineering or related technical area.
  • Previous scheduling experience with Primavera P6 experience required.
  • High-school diploma or general education degree required.
  • Up to two years of formal post-high school specialized trade school, technical school, or college preferred.


ERO requirement, remaining Monti/PI positions:

Must live within 90 minutes to ensure proper implementation of Emergency Response plan.


A condition of employment will be successfully obtaining and maintaining General Security Clearance and a Nuclear Security Clearance for unescorted access to Xcel Energy nuclear plants including successful completion of nuclear General Access Training (GAT) and the nuclear security screening process (typically consists of an alcohol/drug screen, a criminal history check, a psychological assessment, initial credit and background investigation and periodic credit & criminal history checks).


This position requires continuity in your new role for 24 months. During that time, you will not be eligible to apply for or request to be moved to any other job at the Company until the continuity timeframe has been met, unless otherwise approved by senior leadership.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $94,500 to $134,166 per year
